The UN secretary-general has called on the Taliban to ensure their immunity.
It has been weeks since the disappearance of the protesting women and some of their relatives, and no information is available about their fate. At least two of them have been abducted recently.
Meanwhile, a number of other protesters are said to have gone into hiding following the abduction of at least four women.
The Taliban, however, say they have no hand in the abduction of the protesting women and are working to obtain information about their fate.
