US Special Representative: Girl Education Has Created Divisions Among Taliban Leaders.

 

The US State Department’s representative for Afghan women says the issue of girls’ education in Afghanistan has created divisions among members of the Taliban leadership.

Reina Amiri, the US State Department’s representative for Afghan women, said in an interview with Turkish TRT, referring to the Taliban’s internal differences, that the group should make its final decision in Afghanistan for female students of second notice.

“People within the Taliban understand that reopening schools is the right decision,” Amiri said. Because, this decision is also in line with their political survival.

Amiri accused a group of Taliban who, with a limited view of Sharia, prevented all girls from returning to school, which he said was an unprecedented decision among Islamic countries.

According to him, Afghans have also expressed dissatisfaction and anger with the Taliban’s decision. Because, the majority of the people of this country are in favor of girls’ education.

However, the Ministry of Education announced the start of girls ‘and boys’ schools at the same time; But ministry officials have always said that they sent the plan to start schools to the government, and they make the final decision.

The students of the schools, including the girls, went to their schools this morning (Wednesday, March, 23, 2022) with thousands of hopes and enthusiasm; But girls above the sixth grade were not allowed.
