A special meeting called “Women, Peace and Security” will be held in the United Nations Security Council in two days, Nasir Ahmadi Fayiq, head of Afghanistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, says that the situation in Afghanistan, especially women and girls in this country, will be discussed in this meeting.

It is expected that the head of the permanent representation of Afghanistan in the United Nations, a representative of the human rights watchdog and a number of others will speak in this meeting. Nasir Ahmadi Fayiq said: “In addition to the members of the Security Council, non-member countries including Afghanistan will participate and give speeches. The issue of the situation of women in Afghanistan and the concerns that exist in this regard will also be one of the issues discussed in this meeting.”
