The Afghan Electricity Company (ABEC) has said that in the near future, a number of reputable and large Russian electricity companies will come to Afghanistan to begin the initial work of implementing joint electricity projects between the two countries.
The company added in a press release that a delegation headed by Abdul Haq Hammar, the director general of the company, traveled to Russia and held talks with Russian officials on the issue.
According to the press release, the two sides have reached an agreement on technical cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.
The source added that these Russian companies are scheduled to conduct joint technical assessments with the Afghan Electricity Company in the electricity and energy production sector.
The press release also said that Mullah Abdul Haq Hammar has invited the Russian side to invest in Afghanistan.
