Women’s Emphasis on Access to Health Services in Afghanistan
A number of women say that they do not have access to standard health services in Afghanistan and have to travel abroad for treatment. including in the treatment of breast cancer, which is one of the most dangerous and common diseases among women.

Zakia, one of the women, says she has breast cancer but due to lack of treatment and diagnosis in the country’s hospitals her has been forced to go to India and Pakistan for treatment.
According to her, the cost of treatment abroad is several times higher, the cost of passports, fares, accommodation,Interpreter’s money and most importantly the money and bank problems.
According to doctors and specialists, breast cancer has increased among the women of the country due to the family history of unhealthy marriages, infertility, exposure of women to radiation and hard work.
Fatema Mohammadi, one of the specialists, says that many women and families are unfamiliar with this breast cancer disease.
Ministry of Public Health officials have also told to media that the number of women with breast cancer in society has been increasing in recent years.
