Today, Tuesday, 1405 AH, the National Waste Management Conference was held in Kabul. It was said in this conference that waste has become a crisis in the country’s major cities and has exposed people to many dangers. Molavi Mati-ul-Haq Khalis, head of the General Department of Environmental Protection, said in this conference that the country’s major cities are facing the problem of waste management and in such a situation, everyone should join hands and cooperate in waste management. The deputy director of the Kabul Municipality’s Environmental Health Department also said that currently there is no standard waste landfill in the country. It was said here that the increase in population in cities has caused environmental pollution and the spread of waste, which if not paid attention to its management, can cause various diseases. The head of the General Department of Environmental Protection emphasized that the current situation requires everyone to join hands and cooperate in waste management. Mufti Fazal Karim Ahmad, Deputy Director of Environmental Health of Kabul Municipality, also said here that citizens throw ordinary waste into medical dumps and medical waste into ordinary dumps without separation. He continued that there is still no standard landfill in the country. This is while the National Waste Management Conference was held with the aim of improving the situation of waste management at a time when citizens of the country are criticizing the presence of waste on the roads and the lack of its management.
