A Number of Afghan and Ukrainian Women Called on the World to Pay Attention to the Crisis Between the Two Countries.

A number of Afghan and Ukrainian women called on the international community to address the situation of women, peace and security in both countries.

The Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security in the United States hosted a meeting of women around the world on Wednesday (March, 17, 2022), according to Roidadha News. At this meeting, the women of Ukraine and Afghanistan stressed that one crisis can not solve another, so the world must pay attention to the crisis in both countries.

The Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security has also stated that respect for women’s rights is the building block of sustainable development, social stability and, ultimately, peace in Afghanistan.

At the meeting, a Norwegian official also stressed the protection of women’s rights in Afghanistan and the country’s commitment to Afghan women and girls.

Rina Amiri, the US special envoy for Afghan women who attended the meeting, tweeted that the meeting reminded that the restrictions imposed on Afghan women are not seen anywhere in the Islamic world.

It is worth mentioning that this meeting was held to support women in the countries in conflict, especially Afghanistan and Ukraine.
