The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Atra’s Office and representatives of telecommunications companies had a meeting regarding to reduce the Internet rates due to the current crisis in the country.

In this meeting, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammad Fahim Hashemi, said that, people need more Internet access than ever after. Based on the need for administrative assistance, Atra held regular meetings with representatives of telecommunication companies, and based on the commitments, we were able to reduce the retail rate of Internet access for compatriots. Due to the crisis in the country, telecommunications companies are prepared to bring considerable reduction in internet rates. During the meeting, the representatives of the telecommunication companies pledged to any kind of cooperation with their compatriots. They announced the new rates as below. In this package, the price of each GB Internet data bundle decreased from 166.6 Afghanis to 108.75 Afghanis. 5.75 GB internet data bundle for 400 Afghanis. In this package, every per internet GB data bundle has been reduced from the price of 106.6 to the rate of 69.6 Afghanis. 21 GB for 1100 Afghanis which every per GB internet data bundle reduced from 78.5 Afghanis to 52 Afghanis.

30 GB Internet data bundle for 2700 Afghanis which this internet data bundle has been reduced from 90 Afghanis to 60 Afghanis. 46 GB internet data bundle for 2700 Afghanis which every per GB reduced from 90 Afghanis to 58.5 Afghanis. In this meeting, Afghan Wireless telecommunication company officials promised that there will be a 30 percent discount for all companies in the prices of their internet data bundles. Their internet packages offer discounts from 47.5 to 70.7 percent.
