Launching a 20-day program to improve the capacity of teachers in special education centers
The 20-day program to improve the capacity of teachers in special education centers began at the “Nima” Institute of Administration and Accounting, with the presence of officials from the Technical and Vocational Education Department, representatives of the Norwegian Committee, experts from this department, and teachers from special education centers from 19 provinces of the country.
According to the News Agency of Events, the goal of holding this training workshop is to improve the scientific and professional capacity of teachers in special education centers, improve the quality of education for people with disabilities, and develop their specialized skills.
This program will continue for 20 days, during which expert master trainers will teach teachers new educational methods and effective teaching methods.
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Mohammad Arif Ataei, Head of Curriculum and Representative of the Deputy Office of Technical Affairs of the Technical and Vocational Education Department, appreciated the continuous cooperation of the Norwegian Committee in the special education sector.
Emphasizing the importance of holding such programs, he said: “The launch of these programs reflects the special attention and support of the leadership of the Technical and Vocational Education Department for the education of people with disabilities in the country.”
Dr. Ataei urged the participants to make the most of the opportunity and share their learnings with other teachers of special education centers after the course ends to improve the quality of education for people with disabilities across the country.
Continuing the ceremony, Dr. Francesca, Head of the Communications and Advocacy Department of the Norwegian Committee, referred to the close cooperation and coordination of this institution with the Technical and Vocational Education Department and said that the Norwegian Committee, in cooperation with this department, is trying to provide the basis for the active presence of people with disabilities in society through vocational and special education.
She added that special education teachers play a key role in developing the talents and capabilities of people with disabilities and urged the participants to use the content of this training program effectively to improve the quality of education in the relevant centers.
In another part of the ceremony, Mufti Noor Ahmad Fayeq stated that the religion of Islam accords a special status and dignity to people with disabilities and stated that supporting this group is the Islamic and human responsibility of all members of society.
He considered the role of special education teachers to be very important in the scientific, intellectual, and skill development of people with disabilities, and emphasized that patience, tolerance, and compassion are among the most important characteristics of teachers in this field.
A number of participating teachers also evaluated this program as valuable and stated that familiarity with new teaching methods, exchange of experience among teachers from different provinces, and benefiting from specialized training will play an effective role in improving the quality of education for people with disabilities.
They also emphasized that after the end of this course, they will apply what they have learned in relevant educational centers and share it with other colleagues to further improve the quality of special education in the country.
This program is part of the joint efforts of the Technical and Vocational Education Department and the Norwegian Committee to strengthen the capacity of teachers, improve the quality of educational services, and provide better educational opportunities for people with disabilities in the country.
It is worth mentioning that previously, the Technical and Vocational Education Department, with the support of the Norwegian Committee, had organized an international conference on supporting people with disabilities in Kabul with the participation of more than one hundred organizations.
