World Food Organization announces that it will start distributing dry bread to students of 70 schools due to increasing poverty and hunger in Afghanistan
It will distribute dry bread to 40,600 students in Paktika, Jowzjan and Nangarhar provinces, the organization said in a newsletter on Monday May 16, 2022.
Afghanistan is currently in a deep economic crisis due to climate change, continuing droughts and political instability. More than half a million Afghan workers lost their jobs in the third quarter of 2021, according to the US Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR).
In addition, SIGAR has said that by mid-2022, the number of people who will lose their jobs since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan will reach 900,000, and these People will be added to the ranks of the needy.
