5- The Taliban kidnapped Three Health Workers.

Local sources in Maidan Wardak Province claim that, three health workers who informed the public about the Corona Virus have been kidnapped by the Taliban.

Sharifullah Hotak, a member of Maidan Wardak Provincial Council, through phone contact told the media today that the three men had been kidnapped in Jalriz district and they had been under captivation of the Taliban since two days until now.
According to the Wardak Provincial Council member, the kidnappers were recruited by the provincial public to raise awareness about corona virus, but the Taliban have not yet commented regarding to the kidnapping. The group recently announced that they are ready to cooperate work with the Afghan government’s health workers in areas which are under control of them.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid also said that: “if the corona virus detects in areas which are under of control of this group, they will stop fighting in those areas, but that this is not mean ceasefire”.
Meanwhile, the United Nations has warned of further outbreak of the coronavirus in the world, and officials in the Ministry of Public Health have repeatedly warned of the negligence and underestimation of the virus by some of the country’s citizens. The virus affected persons are topped up to more than 300 people in the country.
