– President Ghani Canceled the Decree of dissolving of Ministry of Finance. Head of the Ministry of Finance.
Head of finance ministry, Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, says President Ghani has revoked the decree of separating the three independent administrations from the body of this ministry.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani recently set up three independent departments (revenues, customs, the treasury, and budget offices) within the Ministry of Finance, which were to be accountable to the presidency. A decree that drew domestic and foreign criticisms.
The head of the Ministry of Finance Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal today April 6, 2020 stated that the issue of budget, customs, revenues and treasury is one of the main issues in the Ministry of Finance and he stated to media reporters regarding to separating of Ministry of Finance in to three parts of as follow: according to his request, President Ghani revoked his previous decree and returned all competencies to the Ministry of Finance.
The head of the Ministry of Finance stated that, the issue of budget, customs, revenues and treasury are the main issues in the Ministry of Finance and these issues should be covered by the two National Assemblys as organ of overseeing the government’s performance.
Mr. Arghandiwal, who is one of President Ghani’s allies in last year’s presidential election, added that currently there is no problem regarding to the ministry of finance and independence of duties. All the work of this Ministry, and all the issues related to the Ministry of Finance will be done through the Minister of Finance and the departments of this organ, and no other body will intervene on that.
After Mr. Ghani’s decree regarding to separating the three departments from the Ministry of Finance, which provoked foreign and domestic strong reactions and criticisms in the the country. Alice Wells, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Affairs and the American Institute for Peace, have criticized the Afghan government’s actions.
The US Peace Institute added: “This action by the Afghan government has posed a political peril”.
