Chinese Red Cross donates $100,000 to earthquake victims in northern region of the country

The Chinese Red Cross handed over $100,000 in aid to the Afghan Red Crescent Society for the earthquake victims in the northern region of the country. The purpose of the aid is to address the urgent problems of the victims in Samangan and Balkh provinces. Bao Zhuhui, Deputy Head of the Chinese Embassy in Kabul, handed over the money to Hafiz Rahman, Deputy Head of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, and also promised that their cooperation with Afghanistan will continue in various sectors.
At the ceremony to receive the aid, the officials of the Afghan Red Crescent Society thanked China’s constant cooperation with Afghanistan and assured that this aid will be delivered to the real needy and earthquake victims in the north with complete transparency.
This comes as a result of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake last week in Samangan and Sar-e-Pul provinces, which killed 27 people and injured about 1,000. Government officials also announced efforts to urgently address the injured and the problems of the victims.
