Hamid Karzai reiterates his commitment to opening the gates of schools and universities to girls

Former President Hamid Karzai, on the occasion of November 20, International Children’s Day, has emphasized on his Facebook page the opening of schools and universities to girls in the country. He wrote that the literacy of girls in Afghanistan is one of the basic and urgent needs of the country for growth and development, and girls and boys should have equal educational opportunities. Mr. Karzai said that proper education and upbringing are considered individual and social rights of girls and boys; because they are the future assets of the country.
The United Nations has named November 20 as International Children’s Day to remind everyone of the importance of children’s rights and their rights.
The British Embassy in Afghanistan wrote in a message on Platform X that every child deserves security, education and hope for a bright future. The embassy added that Britain stands with the children of Afghanistan and supports efforts to protect their rights and well-being.
It is worth noting that November 20 is celebrated every year as Children’s Day to make everyone aware of their rights. In Afghanistan, however, children face numerous economic, labor, cultural, educational, and legal problems. Officials in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, however, report efforts and the establishment of committees to address children’s problems throughout the country.
